Why are quartz electronic watches more accurate than mechanical watches?
The daily error of an ordinary quartz electronic watch is less than 1 second, which is several tenths of that of a mechanical watch. This is mainly due to the high and stable oscillation frequency of the quartz oscillator in the quartz watch. The higher the frequency, the more accurate the time, the higher the frequency of the oscillator, the more stable the oscillation, the stronger the anti-interference ability, and the more accurate the watch. The oscillation frequency of the quartz electronic watch is 32768Hz, which is 10,000 times higher than the frequency of 3 Hz per second of the ordinary fast-swing mechanical watch, so the quartz electronic watch is much more accurate than the mechanical watch. In addition, due to the structural problems of the mechanical watch itself, the offset between the horizontal position and the vertical position will produce a potential difference under the action of the earth's gravity. The spring is tightened to relaxed, and the torque is unbalanced. Moreover, affected by the external temperature, magnetic field, vibration, etc., even if the mechanical watch increases the frequency a little, it is impossible to achieve the accuracy of the quartz electronic watch.
2. Why is the appearance of watches and clocks generally not covered by the warranty?
The main function of a clock is to keep time, and various problems may occur during use, causing travel time failures. Manufacturers, sales units, and repairers shall provide three guarantees as required. However, the appearance of the watch, such as the case, face, needle, glass, strap, crown, etc., should be inspected in person by both parties when it is sold. After the sale, the glass scratches, broken cases, scratches on the case, scratches on the back cover, and skewed handle due to various reasons are generally caused by use problems, so they are not covered by the warranty, but the dial can be caused by non-use. If the scale is not uniform, the eyes are slanted, the case is asymmetrical, etc., it is a manufacturing defect, which is within the scope of warranty and replacement.
3. Is the all-steel watch just more wear-resistant?
In addition to the wear-resistant characteristics, the all-steel watch has the advantages of anti-rust, corrosion-resistant, anti-magnetic, high strength, and environmental protection (skin allergies are not prone to occur when wearing).
4.The back cover is made of stainless steel. Can it be called semi steel?
A semi-steel watch is a name for an early domestic watch, which generally refers to a watch with a stainless steel bottom cover and a chrome-plated copper case. The so-called "semi-steel" and "full-steel" titles at that time were actually an evaluation of the merits of watches. With the development of the watch industry, the structure of the casing and the materials used have become more and more diversified. The term "semi-steel" has become outdated, while "all-steel watch" has been given a new meaning. The "all-steel watch" currently produced is a watch based on the fact that the main parts of the watch case, bottom cover and strap are stainless steel. It only explains the composition of the basic materials of the main parts of the watch and does not serve as an evaluation standard for the quality of watches.
5.How many years should the battery life of a quartz watch be?
Each movement supplier has different commitments to its battery life. For example, the battery life of Citizen movement is generally 2-3 years, and some movements can reach 5 years or even 10 years. Generally speaking, the smaller the power consumption of the movement and the larger the battery capacity, the longer the battery will be used. Due to a variety of other factors that will also affect the battery life, such as the length and width of the hands (weight), ambient temperature, magnetic field, battery or watch inventory time, etc., according to national standards, the battery life of a quartz watch should be greater than 1 year.
